What Travis treats most

Travis believes that caring for the whole person begins with listening. These are the concerns he sees most often.

From engineering to medicine

Dr. Travis Tran is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Certified Asian Bodywork Practitioner. He is grateful to bring his knowledge, curiosity, and genuine care for people to his work at All Is Well Austin.

Before becoming a healthcare practitioner, Travis worked as a chemical engineer after graduating cum laude from Texas A&M University. Engineering taught him to think deeply about systems, patterns, and how individual parts work together.

Over time, he found himself wanting something different. He wanted more human connection, and became increasingly curious about the human body, health, and the many ways the body works to maintain balance.

That curiosity led him to AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, where he earned his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in 2022. Today he feels fortunate to bring both parts of his journey together: the analytical mind shaped by engineering and the compassion that drew him toward caring for people.

Supporting neurological recovery

Recovery after a stroke or neurological event can be a long and deeply personal journey. Travis provides complementary acupuncture and bodywork support alongside the care already established by a patient’s physician, neurologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, or other providers.

His role is not to replace that care, but to offer another layer of support as the body works toward greater function and ease. Every person’s recovery is different, and results vary from person to person.

How he works with patients

Travis takes time to understand what brings each person to the treatment room and what they hope to experience from their care. Depending on the individual’s needs, treatment may include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Asian Bodywork and Tuina
  • Electrical stimulation (E-Stim)
  • Cupping
  • Other individualized acupuncture techniques

His work is particularly well suited for people experiencing acute or chronic pain, muscular tension, restricted movement, and other concerns affecting comfort and mobility. Often the hardest part is not the pain itself, but what it keeps you from: sleeping comfortably, working, exercising, or playing with your children and grandchildren.

His intention is to understand not only where it hurts, but what you want your body to be able to do again. Acupuncture and Asian Bodywork may support the body’s natural pain-regulating processes, circulation, muscle relaxation, nervous system regulation, and overall sense of wellbeing. The treatment is individualized to the person, not simply the diagnosis or location of discomfort.

The person behind the practitioner

Travis is naturally curious. He enjoys learning how things work and understanding the patterns that connect one part of a system to another. But what he values most is the opportunity to connect with people, to listen to their stories, and to be part of their journey toward feeling better. He considers it a privilege to care for each person who walks through the doors of All Is Well Austin.
